Our Story

Criniti Medical Practice was established by Dr Rosa Criniti in The Avenue, Hurstville in 1980. We are proud to have celebrated our 40th anniversary in 2020.

Our practice provides quality patient care for families from all over the St George area and beyond.

All of our doctors have trained and worked in the local area for many years. We also have a registered nurse in our team to assist our doctors in providing a range of services to our patients.

Many of our patients have been coming to see our doctors in Hurstville for over 30 years – in some cases, three generations of the same family!

We are a mixed billing practice and we charge a private fee for most consultations.

We do continue to offer bulk billing for some patients:

 

Please note, from 1/7/23, all new patients will be privately billed at the practice.

Yes. our doctors are only available by appointment. We do not accept walk-ins.

We keep a limited number of appointments open each day for patients who are sick and need to be seen quickly. Please visit Hot Doc or call us on (02) 9570 7770 to see if we have any spare appointments on the day.

If your usual doctor is fully booked, we may offer you an appointment with another doctor who has availability on the day.

In case of an emergency, please dial 000 or go directly to hospital.

Yes, we do.

If booking online via Hot Doc, please make sure you select the Telehealth option for your appointment.

If booking through our reception team, please make sure you tell them you want to book a telehealth appointment, not a standard face-to-face appointment.

If you booked your appointment through Hot Doc, you can change or cancel your appoointment online.

Otherwise, please call our reception on (02) 9570 7770.

Please show courtesy to our doctors and other patients by letting us know as soon as possible if you can’t make an appointment.

We are a busy practice and missed appointments take up valuable time which could be spent helping others.

A cancellation fee of $50 will apply for no-shows or if you cancel your appointment without notifying the practice at least three hours in advance.

Nobody likes to be kept waiting. Our staff understand this and we do our best to keep all appointments as on-time as possible. However, due to the unpredictable nature of a medical practice, doctors may run behind time. We regret any inconvenience caused due to these delays.

Please feel free to call us before you arrive for your appointment to confirm whether your doctor is running on time.

Please book a consultation for a doctor to verify and certify that you have a medical condition that requires time off work.

We cannot backdate a medical certificate.

Please book an appointment with your doctor if you require a referral letter.

It is important that your specialist receives information about your other medical problems, a list of your other medications and notification of allergies. These factors may affect your care. This is part of your comprehensive care that is best provided during a consultation.

For Radiology – you will need to make a follow up appointment with the xrays/scans to discuss the results.The patient is responsible for picking up the xrays etc from the Radiology provider. Please note: patients are NOT to drop xrays/scans off to the front desk, you will need an appointment to discuss the results.

For Pathology – The doctor will advise during your consultation when your results are expected to arrive at the practice.

Please phone the practice on 9570 7770 (after 2pm) to check if your results are available.

All results must be checked by a doctor.

  • ‘No Action’ means continue with what is discussed during your consultation.

  • ‘Discuss’ means make a non-urgent appointment to follow up.

  • ‘Return urgently’ means make an appointment as soon as possible.

Please make an appointment if you need the doctor to fill in a form for your drivers licence, Centrelink, insurance, work medicals etc . Some of these forms take longer than 15 mins to complete so please advise the receptionist which form you need when making the appointment. Please do not drop forms off at the front desk for completion.

When your last script is issued by the pharmacist, that’s the time to make an appointment for further repeats with the doctor. 

There are three ways you can request a script:

  1. Book a face-to-face appointment with a doctor
  2. Book a telehealth appointment wiht a doctor
  3. Use our Repeats service on Hot Doc (note: this is only available for repeat prescriptions, not new medication)

Yes, we are open on Saturday mornings with one doctor only.

Please note, Saturday appointments will now be privately billed at our practice for all patients.
