Dear Patients,
From 1st January 2025, Criniti Medical Practice is making some changes to our billing policy.
Patients with a Pensioner Concession Card or Health Care Card will no longer be bulk-billed.
We will be charging a reduced fee ($30 out of pocket) for patients with these cards:
APPOINTMENT TYPE | FEE | MEDICARE REBATE | GAP |
Short (<6 minutes) | $49.60 | $19.60 | $30.00 |
Standard (15 minutes) | $72.85 | $42.85 | $30.00 |
Long (>20 minutes) | $112.90 | $82.90 | $30.00 |
Extended (>40 minutes) | $152.15 | $122.15 | $30.00 |
We will continue to bulk bill Veterans.
Chronic Disease Management (Care Plans), Health Assessments and government-funded vaccinations (Flu/COVID19) are bulk billed for all patients.
The cost of running a medical practice and providing quality health care has risen significantly.
For many years, Medicare rebates have failed to keep pace with inflation and do not reflect the true cost of delivering high-quality general practice services.
In 2013, the Federal Government froze Medicare rebates for 4 years and then in 2017 began indexing them at just 1.4%. However, the cost of running a practice has continued to rise by 4-6% annually over the past 10 years.
We hope you understand that this change is not about increasing profits, it is necessary to ensure the sustainability and viability of our practice.
Payment in full is required on the day of the consultation and can be made by cash, EFTPOS, or Credit Card.
We will then submit your Medicare Claim electronically so that you receive a Medicare rebate. There are two ways we can do this for you:
We understand these changes may not be popular, but unfortunately, they are necessary to ensure we remain viable.
If you have any questions or feedback, please feel free to contact our Practice Manager Adrian Rees by emailing admin@crinitimedical.com.au.
You may also wish to contact your Federal MP to provide your feedback on Medicare funding.
Thank you.
