Flu Vaccine now available

The Flu Vaccine is now available for patients at our practice.

Please contact our reception to book an appointment for your flu vaccine, or speak to your doctor or nurse for more information.

How much does it cost?

Many patients are eligible for a free flu vaccine (see list below).

If you are not eligible for a free flu vaccine, we charge a fee of $20.00 to receive the flu vaccine at our clinic.

Who is eligible for a free flu vaccine?

Under the National Immunisation Program, free flu vaccines are provided to the following groups who are at higher risk of complications from flu:

  • children aged 6 months to less than 5 years
  • all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 6 months and over
  • people aged 6 months and over with certain medical conditions that increase their chance of severe influenza and its complications
  • pregnant women (at any stage during pregnancy)
  • people aged 65 years and over.

What do i do if i am getting the COVID19 vaccine?

If you intend to have the COVID-19 vaccine, you will need to have your flu vaccination at least 14 days before/after other vaccinations.

Our reception can help make bookings for COVID19 and flu vaccinations at the same time.

After Your Vaccination

After receiving any vaccine, you may experience minor side effects. Most side effects are mild and last no more than a few days.

Common reactions to vaccinations include:

  • a sore arm
  • headache
  • low level fever
  • muscle pain
  • chills
  • tiredness, or
  • joint pain.
