CONCESSION CARDS

Please present your concession card to reception at your next visit so they can sight it and update the details we have on file. Some cards have not been checked for a while due to COVID19 etc.

BULK BILLING POLICY

We will continue to bulk bill patients with a Green Health Care Card, Pension Card or DVA Card.

COMMONWEALTH SENIORS HEALTH CARD

Please note, from 1st May 2023, Criniti Medical Practice will no longer be bulk-billing patients with a Seniors Health Care Card.

We will be charging a reduced fee ($30 out of pocket) for patients with this card.

TREATMENT ROOM FEES

From 1st May, all patients will be charged a fee for certain services provided by our nurse in the treatment room.

Skin procedures and dressings will attract a higher fee due to the significant expense involved with these services.

You will be notified of any charges at the time of booking.

WHY ARE WE MAKING THESE CHANGES?

The cost of running a medical practice and providing quality health care has risen significantly.

For many years, Medicare rebates have failed to keep pace with inflation and do not reflect the true cost of delivering high-quality general practice services.

In 2013, the Federal Government froze Medicare rebates for 4 years and then in 2017 began indexing them at just 1.4%.

However, the cost of running a practice has continued to rise by 4-6% annually over the past 10 years.

MEDICARE gap

Bulk-billing (where only the Medicare rebate is paid directly to the doctor) provides less than 50% of the fee recommended by the Australian Medical Association (AMA) for a standard consultation.

We hope you understand that this change is not about increasing profits, but it is necessary to ensure the sustainability and viability of our practice.
